Obituary of Carol Leona Evans

Carol Evans died Thursday, August 1, at age 88 in her home in Shelton, Washington. She had lived there for the past 21 years. Carol was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1924 and grew up in the Shelton area. She granduated from Irene S. Reed high school in 1942. That same year she married Keith Evans (who preceded her in death). The family moved to Quincy, Washington in 1953 and spent the next 21 years farming. While residing in Quincy, Carol was active in 4-H, worked at various retail establishments, and was a receptionist at the doctor’s office. After selling the farm, Carol and Keith moved to Port Orchard, Washington. For the next 18 years they were involved with a home building business. In 1992, they retired and moved back to Shelton. Carol was involved with many social activities at Christmas Village Manufactured Home Community and was the manager for several years. During her lifetime Carol pursued many interests and hobbies. Sewing, flower arranging, decorating for the holidays, painting, and traveling were among her many interests. She traveled to Australia, Fiji, Spain, Morocco, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, the Caribbean, New York, and other U.S. destinations. She loved Broadway musicals. She is survived by her children: Rick Evans of Quincy, Jo Smith of Lacey, and Ellen Hanson of Seattle. She is also survived by her sister Dolores Crosson of Shelton and many nieces and nephews.
