In the early evening hours of July 11, 2025, Jennelle Etue left this world for the next surrounded
by family and loved ones. Jennelle was born to Sharon Etue (Odom) and Gerald Etue on
September 27, 1973 in Lakeport, California. A viewing for friends and family will be held on
Thursday, July 24th from 2pm to 3pm at the McComb & Wagner Family Funeral Home located
at 718 W Railroad Ave, Shelton, WA 98584, with a celebration of life to be announced at a later
date.
She had many loves throughout her lifetime; raising her children and grandchildren, spending
the day at the beach (especially Ocean Shores), capturing and scrapbooking memories and
special occasions, and most of all, getting to experience the wonders that life had. Even though
she may not have been dealt the best of cards, she made the absolute best with what she had,
finding solace and joy in the most unlikely of places. She was the true embodiment of
selflessness, with an altruistic heart made of gold. A crafter’s paradise is what could often be
called Jennelle’s home, as her favorite pastime was creating gifts, cards, and general crafts to
give to loved ones to show that she thought of them.
Her children were her greatest joy. Of all her roles in life, none brought her more happiness than
being a parent. Her heart went into raising her children with compassion, patience, and the sort
of steady presence that made everything feel safe. Jennelle believed in showing up in listening
deeply and in loving fiercely, not just with words, but with actions every single day. She taught
through example to be kind without expecting praise, to work hard and remain humble, and to
always value people over things.
Most weekends she could be found at the end of a long dirt road, sitting in her swinging chair,
reading a book along the riverbank out at the cabin. If you looked carefully, there would also be
a grandkid, or three, by her side, just soaking in the love that she had for them. Her biggest goal
in life was to be the absolute best Grammy she could be to her grandkids, whether that be just
having quality time together, teaching them about the world and watching them grow, or
supporting them through life’s endeavors, she made sure to show them just how much she
loved them.
She is survived by her children Cassandra Long and Alicia Long, and her grandchildren Jaden,
Ayla ’Mae, and Dylan; her dad Gerald Etue; her siblings Lorie Lider, Chris Etue, and Joe Etue;
as well as numerous extended family and friends.
