Connie Brown Obituary

Constance Lee (Connie) Brown. 05-01-1943.

We are saddened and devastated by the sudden passing of our mother at 82 from natural causes. Despite her tribulations over the past year that she faced and conquered with faith and grace, the Lord called her home on August 17, 2025.

She was the true matriarch of our family always bringing us together no matter where we were . She made sure to keep us together and accepting anyone who came along with us as family.

She was born in Seattle, Washington. She has lived in Texas, Oregon, New Mexico, and Arizona. She settled here in Hoodsport in 1979. While we call her a “nomad” because of her wonderful sense of adventure and love of traveling, Hoodsport has been her home and community that she cherished. She traveled to as many National and State parks as she could possibly drive. Her trip to Ireland last year was the highlight of all her travels.

She was always so loving, caring, accepting and forgiving of all. She was also resourceful and getting things done on her own. She could

be a little mischievous and you would know when she “got you”! She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Her pies and cinnamon rolls will be truly missed.

When she wasn’t baking, she had a passion for her garden and flowers, loving her rose garden and just being outdoors. During the cold winter months she kept busy making quilts for family and friends, all sewn with so much love and warmth. Volunteering at the food bank was always a privilege to her.

She was dedicated to the Lord and felt truly blessed with all that he provided her and never wavered in her faith. Her church community meant the world to her.

There is a huge hole in our hearts that can never be filled. She had so much life and love in her and made the most of every day, 82 years just doesn’t seem long enough. May we hold onto the memories, good times and laughter that she brought to all of us.

She is survived by her children: Nora / John Yackley of Parker, AZ. Dewayne / Lori Matlock of Shelton, WA. Jane / Randy Seaberg of Hoodsport, WA. Kim / Jamie Walton of Lacey,

Her sister Janice / Charles Kelley of Denton, TX and brother John Rodger’s of Goodyear. AZ.

She has 11 grandchildren and 6 Great grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Norval / Bessie Rodgers and sister Norvalene “Torchy” Hays.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Hood Canal Food Bank, Hood Canal Community Church or any organization you feel would warm her heart.

A celebration of life will be held at Hood Canal Community Church in Hoodsport on October 18, 2025 at 11:00 am.
