Ernest Leonard Pluff Jr.

Ernest passed away peacefully in Shelton on October 24, 2025, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. He was cremated on October 31, and we now invite you to join in his celebration of life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 3507 E McKinley Ave, Tacoma, WA 98404.

Ernest was born to Shirley Mowitch of Taholah, Washington, and Ernest Pluff Sr. of Saint Ignatius, Montana, on October 10, 1956, in Aberdeen, Washington. Ernest enjoyed working outdoors and spent time as a fisherman, tree planter, firefighter, and did what he could to provide for his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lenord Pluff Sr., in 1970; his son, Canaan Pluff, in 2010; and siblings Marlene “Lotta” Pluff, Louis Pluff, Eddie Bastian, Carolyn Pluff, Joelette Bastian-Ramos, Gene Piffero, Jimbo Mowitch, Regina Crumpacker, and Ben Harlow.

Surviving relatives include his mother, Shirley Bastian; siblings Juanita Thomas, Misty Bastian, Gina Piffero, and Lisa Bastian. He is also survived by children from his previous marriage to Sandra McCloud, who passed away in 2021: Barina, (Petalashero)-Shero, (Ollokot)-Allz, Earl, Ablaza (Blaze), and Marsha. After his divorce from Sandra, he had two daughters with Raquel Wellman: Shylynn Pluff and Kaleena Pluff.
