Sharon Fitchitt Obituary
Sharon E. Fitchitt, beloved mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, entered her heavenly home on March
17, 2026, at the age of 84. She passed peacefully at Alpine Way Retirement Home in Shelton, Washington, surrounded by the love and presence of her children.
Born in New York, New York, on November 30, 1941, Sharon was the cherished daughter of Francis “Rocky” Wilder and Marjorie “Aileen” Parsons-Wilder. Her life was built on strength, compassion, and a profound love for God, and
those foundations influenced every step she took and every life she touched.
Sharon built a long and dedicated career as a floral manager, sharing her eye for beauty and her talent for over twenty years. After retirement, she poured her creativity into paper crafting, joyfully making cards for every occasion. Her handmade creations were more than crafts—they were expressions of love, celebration, and faith.
A devoted member of her community, Sharon served on the Community Concert Board, where she helped bring music to others. She treasured time spent with friends, and her kindness, humor, and warmth made her a blessing to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Eric, and her son, David. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Donald R. Phipps, and later by her husband, Richard Fitchitt. She is survived by her siblings, Greg, Ian, Huey, and Allison, as well as a large and loving family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Sharon’s children— Donnie and Carrie, Jeff and Carol, Brian and Carol, and Amy and Valant Williams—were a cherished part of her life. She is also remembered with affection by her stepchildren, Rick and Teri.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jennifer, Catherine, Daniel, James, Jessica, David, Calista, Brianna, and Aileen, along with her step-grandchildren Annie, Austin, Tiffany, and Brandy. Sharon was further blessed with eighteen great-grandchildren, each one a testament to the enduring love she poured into her family.
She brought courage, strength, and a joyful sense of humor into our lives, often expressed through animated hands. Her spirit was truly one of a kind, and her memory will forever be a source of comfort and enduring smiles. As she often reminded her loved ones, “We do not say goodbye; instead, we say, “See you here, there, or in the air.”
A service will be held at First Baptist Church on April 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with lunch to follow as we gather together to share memories, stories, and the love she leaves behind.
