Harvey Joseph Kuchynka, age 89, passed away March 25, 2026 in Shelton, WA. He was surrounded by his family.

Harvey was born September 15, 1936 at home in Waubun, Minnesota to Joseph and Anna (Zaviska) Kuchynka. Harvey was the oldest of four, followed by brother Eddie, and sisters Mary and Dorothy.

On March 1, 1958, Harvey married the love of his life, Angie Louise Zielie, in Miles City, Montana. The newlyweds moved to Seattle in July, where Harvey went to work for Boeing, retiring in 1991 after 33 years of service. They had three children, Christi, Stanley and Vicki.

In 1962, Harvey and Angie bought their first home in Kent, WA where they lived for nearly 40 years.

During retirement, Harvey and Angie moved to Elma and became snowbirds. They enjoyed dancing, especially to polka music. Harvey enjoyed going to the casino, where he played Texas Hold’em and the slot machines.

He is survived by his daughters Christi (Dwight), Vicki (Brian), son Stanley; his granddaughters Kari (Jeff), Jamie (Darrell), Jeni, Jessica and great grandchildren Joey, Kaylynn, and Peyton; brother Eddie (Sandi), sister Mary (Bill) and brother-in-law Fred and sister-in-law Laurie; and his very dear aunt Agnes (Aggie) Barrick of Norwood Young America, MN.; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Angie of 60 years, his parents Joseph and Anna, sister Dorothy (Larry), brother-in-law Rob, sister-in-law Virginia (Bob) and sister-in-law Charlotte.

Memorial Services will be held April 18, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lacamas Community Center 32113 8th Ave South Roy, WA. A light lunch will follow.
