Lynn Nelson Obituary
Lynn C. Nelson
Jan. 9, 1950 to April 11, 2026
Born in Shelton during a record-breaking snowstorm Lynn Nelson lived an unapologetic life. She had unfiltered honesty, matched with her quick wit. Her heart and generosity were boundless for the people, projects, and animals she cared about.
In early February Lynn’s active life changed without warning. Cancer is a merciless aggressor, and Lynn could not overcome it. She is survived by her son, Tad Wiltman; sister, Jayne’ Nelson; a great grandchild who brought her joy; numerous nieces and nephews; friend and ex-husband, Ray Wiltman; and a large collection of resident fur babies. Those she left behind will miss her laughter, her candor, and generosity because all those things made Lynn the unique woman we loved. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Lynn retired about 2008 from Labor & Industries so she could have more time for fun. She was an active member of the service sorority Beta Sigma Phi where her leadership and friendship will be missed. Lynn was an avid reader of fiction, bowler, and accomplished card player. Digging razor clams, camping, and some cool weather travelling were things enjoyed through the years. Her plates of home-made candy and canned tuna will be a treasured memory.
Good friends, food, and laughter were some of Lynn’s best moments. Lynn's celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 9 at 1:00 pm at the Shelton Senior Center. Please share a memory in Lynn's honor. Donations in Lynn’s name to Shelton Youth Connection, Mason County Historical Society, or Laureate Nu are requested instead of flowers.
