Paula LaBerge Obituary

Paula Diane LaBerge, 71 of Shelton, Washington passed away surrounded by family on May 1st at Mason General Hospital. Born March 24th, 1955, in Tacoma, Paula moved to Stretch Island, Grapeview in 1970 where she would live until she moved to Shelton in 2007. Paula was raised in a large Catholic family and was the eldest of nine brothers and sisters. She carried her Catholic upbringing and teachings with her throughout her life.


Paula cared deeply for her family and found joy in watching her two grandsons. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life; spending time with family, gardening, going to the beach, cooking, and reading.


Paula is survived by her son Kyle Tobey, daughter Aleiha Smith and son-in-law Chris Smith; grandsons Tanner and Andrew Smith; her brothers Ronald, John and Gerald; sisters J’Anna (and husband Sujin Frisby) and Janelle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Loretta, ex-husband James Tobey, brothers Donald and Thomas, and sister Teresa.


The family would like to thank the Mason General hospital staff for their compassionate care.


Paula will be interred at the Shelton Memorial Park.
