Obituary of Phyllis Elaine Ahlf

Phyllis Elaine (Meyer) Ahlf of Shelton, a 42 year resident of the area passed away January 24 in Olympia. She was born January 6, 1938 in Spokane, WA to Catherine (Wheeler) and William Meyer. She graduated from Reardan High School in 1956, and from Washington State University in 1960 with a BA in Education. She married Ronald L. Ahlf on September 13, 1958 in Spokane, WA. She lived overseas in the Marshall Islands with her family for 4 years. She was an elementary school teacher at Evergreen Elementary and Pioneer Elementary. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, a PEO member, and an avid WSU Cougar fan who traveled to many games for over 30 years. She loved music and playing the piano; she spent many summers with family and friends at Twin Lakes, WA. She was involved in working on Shelton Junior programs, playing pinochle with friends, and her monthly dinner group. She is survived by her son, Reid Ahlf (Terri) of Coeur d’Alene, ID; daughter Pam Teglovic (Steve) of Sammamish, WA; son, Troy Ahlf (Kim) of Burien, WA; grandson, Kyle Ahlf (Heather) of Portland, OR; granddaughter Morgan Teglovic, San Diego; grandsons Colton and Garrick Teglovic of Sammamish, WA; grandson Matthew Ahlf of Burien, WA; granddaughter Kelsey Ahlf of Burien, WA; and sister, Joan Rae of Bellingham, WA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Suzanne Mull and her loving husband, Ron. A funeral service will be held January 30 at 1:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church in Shelton, WA.
