Obituary of Thomas Hampton Wade

Tom Wade, August 29, 1980-March 15, 2016 Thomas Hampton Wade was born in Gladstone, Queensland, Australia. He traveled to the United States with his mother in 1982. He passed away quietly on March 15 after years of courageous living despite the brain cancer that ultimately took his life. During his first few years in the United States, Tom lived in Wenatchee, Washington. Shortly after his fourth birthday, he moved to Oregon. While there, Tom’s father introduced Tom to his love of sports and—living next to the McKenzie River—his love of fishing. Tom moved to Port Orchard, WA, in 1994 and lived midway between the Harper Pier and Harper Park. After school and on weekends, Tom could often be found at the pier or in the park, fishing or trekking through the woods. Tom graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1999. In 2004, he earned a degree from the University of Washington in Fisheries Science. At the time of his death, Tom was working as a Fisheries Technician at the Manchester Research Station of the National Marine Fisheries Service for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In 2003, Tom met the love of his life, Beth Boscacci, on a spring break flight to Las Vegas. They were married four years later. Tom and Beth welcomed their first child, Lillian Rose, in 2010. Their son, Tannum William, was born in 2013. Tom’s family meant everything to him. He loved their getaways to Leavenworth, Portland, the Oregon Coast and Puerto Vallarta. He also loved their road trips and random adventures. Tom was kind, loyal, and honest. He had a wicked sense of humor, but never at the expense of others. He enjoyed building things, maintaining his bright red truck, taking his boat out on the water, and Starbucks visits. He was dedicated to his family, his work, and his friends. Tom will be deeply missed, and never forgotten. Tom is survived by his wife and two children; his sisters (in-law) Kim and Emily Boscacci; his mother, Casandra Firman; his father, Kerry Wade; and his parents-in-law, Mary and Steven Boscacci. Tom was preceded in death by his good friends, Mike McCurdy and Ben Lyles, both of Port Orchard. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 2, at John Sedgwick Jr. High School in Port Orchard. All family and friends are invited. Wear blue and green or your Seahawks or Sounders jersey in honor of Tom’s devotion to his teams! In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Brain Tumor Society (http://braintumor.org) for research on brain cancer.
