Obituary of Glenn Kenneth Cobain

Glenn Kenneth Cobain, was born in Kirkland, WA on January 5, 1958. Glenn passed in his Shelton home on May 28, 2016. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Ardith Cobain, a niece and cousin, Kurt Cobain. Glenn grew up in Bothel, he graduated from Bothel High School, after which he attended Kirkland Community College, where he obtained a degree in welding. Glenn used his skills in welding fabrication throughout his life, building fishing boats and racecars. Stock car racing at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, was another joy of his youth. Glenn was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Glenn loved photography and often his favorite catches were captured on film. His desire for adventure led him to such jobs as managing a remote fishing camp in Rivers Inlet, BC and fishing the Bering Sea of Alaska. He built and operated his own sawmill, near Tonasket in Eastern Washington. Glenn relocated to the Grays Harbor/ Mason County area in the 1980’s, to help develop, grow and manage numerous local mobile home parks. Later Glenn began driving truck delivering the US Mail, where he met and married his wife Peggy Lingle Cobain. For the last 15 years Glenn was employed by the USPS, as an Electrical/ IT National Support Technician. He enjoyed his job greatly and was frequently acknowledged for his outstanding performance. Glenn was a friend to all who knew him, quick with a smile and a helping hand. Deeply loved by his family, he will be sorely missed. He knew no greater joy than the love of his grandchildren, for whom he was a hero. Please post memories and photos for the family if available, a celebration of life is scheduled for August. Details will be posted to the online obituary as they become available. Instead of cut flowers the family ask for plants or other suitable wild bird feeding supplies, as Glenn kept all his local birds fed and housed.
