Obituary of Sterling Maurice Pearson
Sterling M. Pearson, 71, a longtime Shelton resident, went to meet the Lord on July 2, 2016. Sterling graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle in 1964 and enlisted in the US Navy. He served his country in Vietnam and aboard ship in the Tonkin Gulf. He married Linda Purves in 1971 and had three children. Linda and Sterling were married 45 years. Sterling worked for the Washington State Correction Center for a few years before starting his roofing business and was a contractor for over 20 years; he later started an antique and collectible store in Shelton and later one in Centralia. Collecting was his passion. He worked as a courier for OCCU, before he retired.
He is survived by his mother, Mozell Edwards, and brothers Leslie (Chris) of Sulkum, WA and Larry Pearson (Brianna) of California. His wife Linda, sons Kenneth Pearson (Darin) of Arkansas, Daniel Pearson (Marcy) of Tumwater and daughter Stacie Scarrow (John) of Sammamish, WA; and two grandchildren, Kyndall and Korbin Pearson.
Sterling loved the Lord and is finally home. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 14th from noon to 7:00 PM at the Pearson Home at Tall Timber Lane in Shelton.
