Obituary of Sandra Marie Pauley
Sandra Marie Pauley died peacefully at her home in Fircrest, Washington, on November 29, 2016. Born in Shelton, Washington in June, 1936, to Gertrude and J. Courtney Pauley, both deceased, the family moved to Seattle with the Rayonier, Inc. Timber Division relocation in 1940. Relocated again to Olympia in 1944 and then to Hoquiam, Washington in 1948. Sandra graduated from Hoquiam High School, Grays Harbor Community College and Washington State University. Upon graduation she moved to Fircrest, Washington. She worked for a short time as a medical technologist, prior to becoming a quality control bacteriologist for Carling Brewing Co. Sandra went to work at Boeing as an inspector where she continued until her retirement at age 65. She loved to read mystery novels, scientific journals and newspapers. She enjoyed kayaking, hiking and driving her old pickup truck. She wanted to be remembered as a scientist at heart. She is survived by two sisters, Margret Kingrey (Everett) of Blair, NE and Sylvia Nelson of Tumwater, WA; nephew Louis C. Riddle (Jennifer), of Lacey, WA; nieces Alison Nelson-Robertson (Paul) of Lincoln City, OR, and Vanessa Nelson of Union, WA; two grandnieces and a grandnephew. As well as numerous cousins. Memorial donations may be made to Mason County Historical Society, American Diabetes Association, or to Washington State University.
