Obituary of Gail Frances Armstrong

Gail Frances Armstrong was called home on April 20, 2017. She was 63 years young. She is survived by her older sister Karen Davis-Beam, her niece Jessica Vos, her daughter Crystal Smith, her son-in-law Ronald Smith and her only granddaughter Mystelle Smith as well as numerous honorary grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her mother Ruth Hranac, and her two younger sisters, Robin Davis-Chase and Gretchen Davis-Chandler. She also leaves behind the members of her church family. Gail was born in August 28, 1952, and graduated from Sequim High School in 1971. She later medically retired from the state of Washington after working in the mailroom for two decades. She was an ordained minister for Rohoboth Ministries. She lived in Roo-Lan assisted living facility in Olympia since September 2010. It is impossible to list all the names of the people whose lives she touched by her strong faith in Christ. She often led bible study while living there. While she was not always happy with her living arrangements, she knew God put her there to reach out to the residents and staff at Roo-Lan. Gail was what her daughter often called a "social bunny". She would stop and talk to anyone and everyone just to say hello or to wish someone a good day. Even though she was in pain more often than not, she was always making sure others were cared for. Gail didn't want a funeral, she wanted a party to celebrate her life here on Earth and her going home to Jesus. There will be a small service immediately followed by a huge birthday bash in August. Time and place to be announced. Wearing purple and sparkles is strongly encouraged! Gail will be greatly missed and we will feel her absence for years to come. Donations in lieu of flowers to help cover cremation costs will be accepted by McComb & Wagner funeral home in Shelton.
