Obituary of Frank Anthony Hughes
Frank Anthony Hughes, 68, a lifelong of Shelton passed away on May 3, 2017. Frank was born in Shelton on June 14th, 1948 to Albert and Genevieve Hughes. He graduated from Shelton High School in 1966.
Frank served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He married Patricia Dunbar on May 7, 1977 in Shelton.
He was an excavation contractor from 1974 until his “retirement” in recent years. Frank had many interests. He was a Hudson Automobile enthusiast, holding a US Patent for his full flow oil filtration system which he invented for the Hudson vehicles. Frank was a member of the 3% club and enjoyed helping to organize the Mason County Historical Society Car Show.
As a musician, Frank played the drums in several bands throughout the years. He also enjoyed traveling the US on his motorcycle in his younger days and to Hudson meets in more recent years with his wife.
Frank’s children and grandchildren were always a source of good laugh, as he greatly appreciated their wittiness.
Frank is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patty, daughter Kimberly (Chay) Tiller, sons Grant and Jack Hughes, four grandchildren Trentin and Rosemary Hughes and Bradley and Marissa Tiller, Brother Lawrence (Helen) and Sister Marilyn Hughes as well as nieces and nephews.
