I did not know Herb well, my misfortune, but I always admired his enthusiasm and energy whenever I saw him at church. He always seemed fully committed to whatever he was doing and he was having fun and always smiling

Herb was a remarkable all-around person. There are so many good memories. For example, he had such remarkable woodworking skills. He made many lovely wooden boxes and for our family he made several round pencil holders. Our kitchen has a step-stool with exquisite mortise and tendon joints as well as a frame for our blackboard.
We also appreciated his kindness and hospitality during our occasional visits to the northwest. Our two children will forever remember the plane rides in his Beechcraft Bonanza and outings around Shelton. Thanks, Herb, for being such a wonderful example for our family.
