Obituary of Dorothy Ann Ferrell
At 10:59 pm on April 25, 2017, Dorothy Ann (Fuller) Ferrell passed away, but only after being pampered by her Granddaughters. With braided hair, freshly painted nails, her favorite blanket, and the perfect cup of tea she parted this earth knowing she was loved beyond belief. Dottie was born in Michigan on October 3, 1952 to John Marks Fuller and Mary Alice McCormick. She was the youngest of 5 siblings ~ Joanne, Edwin, John, and Letha. She lived most of her life in Florida, Arizona, and finally Washington, though she always considered Chino Valley, Arizona as “home”. Her faith in God saw her through many challenges in life, including the multitude of medical issues that plagued her for so many years. Despite it all, she remained strong and never let anything bring her down. Affectionately known to most as, Nanna, she was best known for her strength, determination, and will to live each day to it's fullest. She loved her family fiercely and will be greatly missed not only by them, but also by most who crossed her path. Christmas has always been her favorite holiday because it's the one day she could count on everyone gathering around the dinner table and she genuinely enjoyed the excitement of her kids and grandkids on Christmas morning. Her love for Christmas sparked her love for angels. Throughout the years her family helped grow quite a large collection of various angels. Worldly possessions have never been important to her, her family has always been the most important thing in her life. She possessed a kind, compassionate, and giving soul. As her multiple schlerosis progressed to needing more attentive assistance her daughter dedicated herself to providing her proper care so that she was able to stay home, where she belonged, surrounded by her beloved family daily. Though she had many jobs such as building airplane parts and being a veterinarian assistant, the jobs she enjoyed most were being a Mom & Nanna. She was a proud and dedicated mother of 2, George Swindle & Melissa (Ferrell) Kassahn ~ Nanna of 6, Chelsey Kassahn, Kylee (Kassahn) Greathouse, Natalie Kassahn, Khadyn Kassahn, Brittany (Swindle) Miller, and Courtney Swindle ~ Great Grandma to 5, Carson and Paxton Miller, Amberlee and Gideon Greathouse, and Elizabeth Weber. She is preceded in death by both parents, all 4 of her siblings, and her beloved son. Her courage and love provided each and every one of her survivors a solid foundation to build their life upon. A phrase she lived by:
“Be strong when you feel weak, brave when you are scared, and humble when you are victorious.”
