Obituary of Lonnie Scheuer
Lonnie Scheuer, a lifetime resident of Grays Harbor, passed away peacefully at his home May 24, 2017. Lonnie was born in Aloha, Washington June 8, 1939, the son of Walter C. “Buster” Scheuer (1996) and Betty M. (Fredericks) Scheuer (2016).
Lonnie grew up in Pacific Beach, Washington and had lived in Bandon, Oregon before returning to the Harbor. Lonnie graduated from Hoquiam High School, a volunteer with the Forestry, and 4 years in the Army Reserve.
Lonnie worked for Aloha Sawmill and Evans Prefinished Plant. When it closed shop, he went to work for Weyerhaeuser Sawmill as a millwright, quad operator, and retired after 32 years.
Lonnie enjoyed time with his family, the YMCA, camping, music, computer games, surfing the internet and caring for pets (dogs), but his passion was making everyone around him laugh. He had a way of making you think he was telling you a true story and then would end it with the punch line, which turned out to be a joke and not true at all. He loved to see your reaction and then see you hysterically laugh.
Lonnie is survived by his wife Ellen P. (Nicholas) Scheuer, Aberdeen, brother Ken Scheuer, Hoquiam, daughters Lana Cosgrove, Pacific, WA, Ellen-Sara “Sis” Miller, Olympia, sons Darrel Harris, Aberdeen, David-Alvin Batchelor, Aberdeen, nieces Traci Andrews, Hoquiam, Melissa Scheuer, Ocean Shores, and Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren listed below.
