Obituary of Vern Mason Hadsall

Vern Hadsall, 90, a resident of Shelton for 22 years, died on January 19, 2014 at Alpine Way Assisted Living. He was born June 23, 1923 in Colfax, Iowa to Lewis and Elsie (Daft) Hadsall. He was in the Army Air Corps, and was honorably discharged in 1946. He remained in the Air Force Reserve for another twenty years, achieving the rank of Major. He worked twenty six years for Texaco Inc., as a truck driver and office clerk. He enjoyed camping, motor homing, square dancing, clam digging and golfing. Was A man of outstanding character. The service of others is what drove him and the hardest part of aging was not being able to do for others as much as he would have liked. He loved his family and his greatest joy was the time spent with them. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Agnes Hadsall; sister-in-law Jean Hadsall (Bob deceased); sister June Wurtz (Chuck – Deceased); brother Dick (Lavern-Deceased); brother Joe (Donna); son William (Sharon); daughter Laurie Sifford (Jim);four Grandchildren; six Great Grandchildren and two Great Great Grandchildren. Internment will take place at Mt. Tahoma Nat’l Cemetery on January 29, 2014, at 2 pm. A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm on April 12, 2014, at Lake Limerick Country Club, Shelton, WA. To be officiated by Pastor Glen Keeffe (First Baptist Church). Arrangements are by McComb & Wagner Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelton, WA. Memorial donations can be made to the Mason General Hospital, Shelton, WA.
