Obituary of James Lloyd Burnett
James Lloyd Burnett, 63, of Shelton/Harstine Island, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014. He was born February 9, 1950 in Shelton, Washington, to John A. and Amy (Deffinbaugh) Burnett.
Jim was a lifelong resident of Shelton. He graduated from Shelton High School in 1968 and attended Seattle Pacific University where he met Alice Abrahamson. They were married on July 29, 1972 in Battle Ground, Washington.
He enjoyed and spent much of his time outdoors. From hunting and fishing to working in the woods and on cars, he was most at home in the fresh air. That translated to working the family tree farm at Island Lake and the Burnett Chevron service station with his dad, spending time with his closest friends each fall in Eastern Washington for hunting trips, traveling with his family to the Pacific National Exhibition in British Columbia for demolition derby races in the summer, and teaching his children and grandchildren a good, physical, work ethic.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; daughter, Kristi and her husband Jim Potter of Battle Ground, WA; son, David Burnett and his fiancé MaLi Kwong of Cary,NC; Grandchildren Karleigh, Rylan and Stella of Battle Ground, WA; brothers Mark (Trish) Burnett of Gig Harbor, WA and Joe (Connie) Burnett of Dillon, MT.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Amy Burnett and sister, Mary Burnett
