While I only met Mr. Winkenwerder a few times, my relationship with Heidi illuminates for me the kind of people she has for parents. Never have I known a kinder, genuinely caring and positive person. Heidi has the truest heart and lives with purpose. Through her stories over the years, I have come to learn how deeply the influence of her family impacts her incredible character. And it shows in the life she has created. What a blessing it is to have a family one can take pride in, knowing the greatest qualities one may wish to pass on, truly have bore fruit.
Holding the Winkenwerder family in my heart and your father to the light. May he be at peace.

Farewell to a truly wonderful man. Our sympathies to Bonnie and the Winkenwerder family at this sad time.
Dick and Bonnie truly had a relationship to admire and emulate. They are one of five of the best marriages I have been fortunate to know.
One of my best and humorous memories of Dick was when he was when he and Bonnie were visiting Duff and the girls in Maryland. They wanted to visit Lancaster Pa and so we planned a day trip.
As we drove en route, I was showing them the various features of the Magellan GPS, in my car and Dick kept up a steady stream of humorous comments each time the GPS gave an instruction causing much hilarity. But Bonnie got the best laugh of all when she said that a GPS could save a marriage since men on road trips refuse to stop and ask for directions! (While looking pointedly at Dick!)
We had an enjoyable road trip to Lancaster that day and it remains one of my most fond memories of Dick.
