Obituary of Marshall Gabriel Cowles

Marshall Gabriel Cowles journeyed home on January 26, 2018. Marshall was born on June 20, 2002 to Marc Cowles and Tami Baker. He has lived in Shelton for 15 years; he was a sophomore at Shelton High School where he participated in ROTC. Marshall had a love for the outdoors; he liked to camp, hike in the woods, picking mushrooms, riding bikes and motorcycles. He loved spending time with family which included road trips to Tulalip to visit extended family and trips to the ocean. Marshall liked video games and would try new things but not new food. He was always excited even for the little things. Marshall was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed. Riley wrote this following message to his brothers which he feels needs to be told to everyone; The loss of our little brother is one that can never be repaid. But from his grave sacrifice we have many lessons learned. The most important of which is there well be bad days. No matter who you are you will have days that will feel as if they are the worst day imaginable. But they will pass! You will learn and adapt that is how we grow. You may fail, you may feel as though all is lost and the world is crushing you down into nothing. But you must get up put on the bravest face you can, and march head strong into tomorrow. For you now push forward with your new found knowledge, your new found hope for what can be. And as you trudge forward your prize will come into view and you will seize it without delay! You will look back at the bad days as nothing more than trivial trials. But you must always remember that it was nothing more than a bad day, and that it will pass. We love you and miss you dearly Marshall and you’ll always be in our hearts and minds, wherever we go. Marshall Cowles is survived by his father Marc Cowles, his mother Tami Baker, his brothers Jeffrey Baker, Marcus Cowles and Riley Vance, great grandfather Gene Smith, grandparents Boyd Bowles & Carolyn Gravatt Bowles along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Marshall was preceded in death by his grandparents Ralph and Donna Baker and his grandfather Myrl Cowles Jr. There is a Celebration of Life service on March 17, 2018 at 1pm at the Squaxin Island Community Kitchen 50 SE Squaxin Lane, Kamilche, WA .
