Obituary of Floyd Delbert Ridout

Floyd Delbert Ridout passed away peacefully February 24, 2018. He was born November 3, 1928 in Spanaway, Washington to John Howard Ridout and Eva Mae Harris Ridout. Floyd graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1946. Floyd married Dorothy Melissa Safreed June 7, 1955. Dorothy passed away June 6, 1987 and they had two sons Tracy Marvel Ridout and Kevin Martin Ridout. Later in life Floyd married Agnes Elva Rose Anderson Och on May 16, 1992. Floyd and Agnes rode the same school bus to Shelton and grew up in the Kamilche area. Together they traveled and enjoyed their blended family. Floyd and Agnes were members of the Harstene Point Travel Club. They both organized Dine Out events for several years. Floyd was known for his sense of humor and being the Captain of his Ship. Floyd will be remembered for his integrity, honesty and his unexpected showing up in the neighborhood. He was our Hero. Floyd worked for the United States Postal Office for 47 years. Everyone that had contact with Floyd appreciated his humor, dedication to work and community. He vested a lot of time into youth sports as a volunteer and coach. One of his accomplishments was building a baseball field at Bordeaux Elementary. Floyd was the neighborhood dad that would take his sons and their friends on fishing trips, hiking trips, clam digging and sporting events. Floyd enjoyed family history and would take trips around the country with Agnes to visit relatives and gather family history. Family was the greatest thing Floyd valued and over the years the family grew. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Howard Marvel, sisters Veva Mae and Goldie Lorraine, stepson Clifton (Skipper) Anderson and a great granddaughter Peyton Burn. Surviving Floyd is his wife Agnes of 26 years. Floyd's Children Kevin and Tracy who live in Montesano with their families. Kevin and his wife Judy Gegen Vandinter and their children Megan (Loren Burn), Ty Douglas and Rachelle Shianne. Tracy and his wife Kristy Diane Jackstadt and their children Lynsey Brianne (Chris Mahlum), Shay Michael (Elizabeth McQueen), Hayley Mae Danielle (Joel Pedersen), Alicia Nicole (Jose Galeana) Helario Xavier, Michael Lee Chandler, Alyssa Iona LaFreniere. Agnes children who became Floyd’s family are Glenda (Randy Morris), Sandy Harris and many grandchildren with numerous great grandchildren Great Grandchildren are Emmerson Grace and Hudson Marvel Mahlum, Blake Michael and Landon Cole Ridout, Jayce Tyler and Sophia Nicole Luna Galeana, Brooklyn Ann Burn, Gavin Royce and Dawsyn Kristine LaFreniere. Floyd also has a Niece and Nephews Pamela and Todd Sharlow, Curtis and David Thiel, Richard and John Ridout Sister in law and Brother in law Virginia and Robert Matson. At Floyd’s request there will not be a funeral. In lieu of donations the family would wish that families would gather and enjoy spending time together as Floyd did throughout the years. Families and friends are our greatest wealth.
