Obituary of Eleanor Louise Broderick
Eleanor “Ellie” Louise Broderick - age 70 - passed peacefully in her sleep March 27th at St.
Peter’s Hospital (Olympia) after a short and sudden battle with cancer. Ellie was born in
Boston, Ma, April 1947. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts
in English while raising five children. In 1983 she moved from Boston to Bremerton,
Washington. She spent a career with the State of Washington in several capacities including
attendant counselor, corrections officer, and support enforcement technician.
Ellie was an avid Star Trek and Star Wars fan, with an extensive collection of books. She loved
kitties and playing cards. Ellie was a member of the Mason County Senior Activities Center,
volunteering there as well as participating in activities.
She is survived by three of her five children, having tragically lost two boys early; her daughters
Wendy Eliason of Puyallup, Wa and Babette Roberts of Allyn, Wa and her son Paul Slaughter of
Wisconsin. She has 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family is planning a small,
private ceremony on April 21st.
