Obituary of Orville Elmo Wahl
OBITUARY - ORVILLE E. WAHL
Orville E. Wahl, age 93 and long-time resident of the Shelton area, died Thursday May 3, 2018 at his residence.
Born June 18, 1923 in Everson, Washington he grew up on a dairy farm in Deming with his parents, a brother, and four sisters (all of whom have preceded him in death). After graduating from Mount Baker High School in 1942, Orville completed the Army Air Forces Advanced Flying School and enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He served his country in World War II flying a Lockheed P-38 in Burma. He continued to be a flight enthusiast his entire life.
After the war, Orville returned to Washington and became a Washington State Trooper. He was assigned a position which brought him and his wife, Wanda, to Aberdeen, Washington in 1948. He retired from the State Patrol after 20 years and started his own business doing home repair and small construction projects. He eventually relocated to Shelton where he loved living near the water and watching the birds and local wild life. He rarely missed a televised Mariners game.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Orinda and Robert Tims of Eugene, Oregon and his daughter Nikki Wahl, also of Eugene.
