Obituary of Angie Louise Kuchynka

Angie Louise Kuchynka, age 78, passed away June 9, 2018 at her home in Elma, WA. Angie was born January 21, 1940 at home in Miles City, MT to Frederick and Jeanette (St. Peter) Zielie. The family moved frequently during Angie’s youth. Angie graduated from St. Mary’s of the Mount in Helena, MT, where she was valedictorian of the class of 1957. On March 1, 1958, Angie married the love of her life, Harvey Joseph Kuchynka, in Miles City, MT. The newlyweds moved to Seattle in July, 1958; their first daughter, Christi, was born in October of that year. In 1962, Harvey and Angie bought their first home in Kent, WA. In 1965, Angie gave birth to son Stanley, followed by another daughter, Vicki, in 1966. In 1976, Angie became a grandmother when her first granddaughter, Kari, was born. Her second granddaughter, Jamie, was born in 1980. After working for Boeing for 17 years, Angie retired in 1993 to care for her third granddaughter, Jeni. In 1999 Angie received the most precious birthday gift, her fourth granddaughter, Jessica. During retirement, Harvey and Angie moved to Elma and traveled back and forth between there and Yuma, AZ. They enjoyed dancing, especially to polka music. In 2011 they settled down and bought a house in Elma, WA. Angie was an avid reader. She enjoyed going to the casino, where she played cards or hit the slots. She was an animal lover. Her family—especially her children and grandchildren—were very important to her. She is survived by her husband Harvey, daughters Christi (Dwight), Vicki (Brian), son Stanley; her granddaughters Kari (Jeff), Jamie (Darrell), Jeni, Jessica and great grandchildren Joey, Kaylynn, Anthony and Peyton; brothers Frederick and Rob (Laurie); her brother-in-law Eddie (Sandi), sister-in-law Mary (Bill), brother-in-law Larry and her very dear aunt, Ann St. Peter of Miles City, MT.; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters Virginia and Beverly. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Charity in Angie’s name. Memorial Services will be held June 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon at the Auburn Eagles, 702 M Street SE Auburn, WA. A light lunch will follow.
