Obituary of Ronald Lee Dickinson

Ronald Lee Dickinson, 84, went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ron was born in Hartford, Connecticut to Leo and Ellen Dickinson on September 30, 1933 and lived there until he enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 18. He served in Korea and was later stationed at Larson Air Force Base in Eastern Washington. Here he met and married the love of his life, Rochelle Ann Clawson of Ephrata, Washington. Ron and Rochelle were married 62 ½ years to the day. Ron and Rochelle moved to Shelton, Washington in 1958. He was employed by Simpson Timber Company, Manke Lumber Company, was a custodian for Mt. View School after a short retirement and renovated houses for sale with his oldest son, Ron. He was a man of faith who loved his family and friends. He was an active member of the McKenzie Road Baptist Church. Ron also enjoyed coaching his son’s Little League baseball teams, fishing, hiking, hunting, woodworking, and gardening and always had a song in his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ellen Dickinson and siblings Mary, Charline and Roger. Survivors include his wife Rochelle, four sons, Ron (Cheryl), Roger (Anna), Robert, and Richard (Heidi). Grandchildren include Jeremiah (Linda), Tyler (Diandra), Chad, Megan, Alex, Sydney (Tyler), Elena and Quinn, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ron is also survived by his twin brother Robert of Chattanooga, Tennessee and his younger brother Clifford of Van Nuys, California. A celebration of Life will be held at the Shelton Presbyterian Church on June 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Donations can be made towards cancer research, the McKenzie Road Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice. Ron was loved deeply and will be greatly missed.
