To Marty, Beth and family,
My condolences in your loss. Take comfort in God's grace and providence. Surely Dr. Hank is now tending a garden with everlasting blooms. He was a good guy, a visionary and detail-oriented leader in the days when he was president of Olympic College. He seemed stubborn to a fault at times but he was always thinking ahead to what he thought was best even when there were budget issues. Quietly and without notice, Hank would visit staff who were ill or in the hospital, check on folks who were struggling, and provide help to many others in the form of job referrals, recommendations for scholarships and pass along praise without fanfare.
Dr. Milander literally paved the way when he initiated the vacating of the Bremerton streets that ran through the heart of the campus. Much of what is now at Olympic College was built upon the shoulders of the presidents and administrators who were there before, beginning with Dr Hank. Again, condolences to you all.
