I had the pleasure of working with Marshall at Evergreen, where he procured many computers for me and my various projects. Working with Marshall was terrific - he somehow always managed to find the best deal, the best technology, all within the procurement rules of the state, Evergreen, and the National Science Foundation. We had many laughs together as we (mostly he!) navigated those many rules and many technology options. So much behind the IT procurement guy! I'm sorry I could not attend his service on St. Patrick's Day since I live now in Bend, but am so appreciative of the well thought out story of his life of which I had only a slight taste through admiring the fabulous photo gallery in his office. It's terrific that the governor of Texas declared Mississippi a part of Texas on the day of his birth. I'll share that with my Texas friends! Farewell Marshall -- you will be missed.

Marshall will always be in our hearts as he touched us very much with his caring, his joy and his love. He supported us when we needed it and was one of our family. We miss you very much! Our love to Kathy and his family.

Spending time with Kathy also meant spending some time with Marshall. My memories are of a man who was gentle, soft-spoken, and kind. He always had a smile.

So sorry to hear of Marshall's passing. Sounds like he has a remarkable family and had a great life. May God give you all peace and comfort during this difficult time. (I was in his graduating class at Stadium in 1964)
