When, as an adult student at SPSCC, I had questions or wanted to talk, Demetria was one of the few professors who would walk with me out to the parking lot, talking and discussing whatever topic. Or answering questions that I had. Lots of times I just wanted to share something I had discovered. She became more than a professor. She became a good friend. We stayed in touch through my Master's degree and beyond. I will miss her.
