Obituary of Rhonda Rae Sanders
It is with great sadness that the family of Rhonda Rae Sanders, 72, announce her passing away on the morning of September 20, 2019 at her residence in Centralia, WA. Her son, daughter and granddaughter were by her side.
Rhonda was born on April 11, 1947 to Ray and Eloise Culp. Ray moved to Mesa, Arizona and married Betty. Rhonda grew up in Arizona and after graduation she worked at Motorola. About that time, she met her future husband, Steven B. Sanders, Sr., and was married in 1966. They first lived in Mesa, and surrounding areas until starting a family in Dripping Springs, AZ in 1969. Rhonda stayed home with their three children and raised them with great pride. The family eventually moved to Kelvin, AZ in 1978 until 1983 when they moved to Round Mountain, NV. She later moved to Fort Worth, TX in 1997 to live with her sister, Dixie Tucker, and be with her niece Kimberly (Charles) Vance. Rhonda moved to Centralia, WA in 2001 to live with her daughter and granddaughter, Skye.
Rhonda had a very strong Christian faith. She attended the Centralia Community Church of God while living in Centralia. She went to Sunday school, home groups and made many friends through the church. Over the years Rhonda has had many hobbies, from Tri-Chem painting, macramé, puzzles and cross-stitching. She would make blankets for her grandchildren and others. She had worked as a secretary, a director of a daycare, in medical records and many other things until her retirement. Which is when she moved into a senior housing complex, where she enjoyed sharing her famous deviled eggs at potlucks, playing many card games with her neighbors and watching her beloved TV programs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Betty Culp, as well as her sister Dixie Tucker and nephew, Kenneth Ray Tucker. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Steven (Joy) Sanders Jr. of Winnemucca, NV, Deanna (Steve) Brossard of Centralia, WA and Jason (Tracy) Sanders of Simi Valley, CA. Rhonda loved spending time with her grandchildren Marcus, Skye, Jessica, Troy, Tyler, Chloe, Madison, TJ, Olena and Makayla during holidays, special visits and just day to day.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the caregivers that offered their support and friendship to Rhonda over the past few years. And a special thank you to Deanna Brossard and Skye Phillips for their day to day support, love and care for Rhonda.
A celebration of Rhonda’s life will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019, at the Centralia Community Church of God in Centralia, WA.
