Obituary of Michael Caiola
Mr. Michael Caiola passed away surrounded by family October 4, 2019 in Olympia, WA. He was 72.
Michael Caiola was born on September 3, 1947 in Bridgeport, CT to his parents, Anthony and Betty Caiola. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam War. He married Diane (Benson) Caiola in 1972. The Caiolas moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1985 where Michael worked in retail management until going into business for himself in 1991. In the late 90s Michael and Diane left Alaska to manage Retirement Communities until Diane lost her battle with cancer in 2003. Michael relocated to Nevada and continued to work in the retirement community field. In Nevada, Michael met Bonny Woodger, they were later married in 2008 and moved to Winlock, Washington in 2017.
Michael was an avid Seahawk fan, so much so that in the off season, he watched reruns of games he already knew the outcome of. Michael enjoyed continuing to serve the retirement community after he retired by dealing poker games to the residents. On more than one occasion he had to remove elderly players from the game for cheating, fighting with each other or disagreeing with the dealer, these stories were priceless. Michael was very fond and proud of all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Michael is survived by his wife, Bonny Woodger of Winlock, Washington; his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and James Coltellaro of Fairbanks, Alaska; his daughter and son-in-law, Gabrielle and Chris Callan of Auburn, Washington; his daughter, Michelle Caiola of Bothell, Washington; his daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Joshua Wilson of Merriam Woods, Missouri; his son, Andrew Soles of Fairbanks, Alaska; his sister and brother-in-law Karen and Mike Miller; his brother and sister-in-law Timothy and Joyce Caiola; his brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Harriett Caiola; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Betty; his wife, Diane; and his brother, Jeff.
In keeping with the wishes of Mr. Michael Caiola there will be no funeral services. Michael’s ashes will be memorialized in an urn beside Diane’s at Angela’s home in Alaska. Michael desired to move back to Alaska and now that will be his final resting place.
