Obituary of William B Fisher

William (Bill) Baxter Fisher passed away peacefully at home at the age of 82 on November 23, 2020 surrounded by his family. Born in 1938, Bill became interested in airplanes and design at an early age and pursued a career in aeronautical engineering. He was involved in NASA’s Project Gemini and also invented and patented an improved method to detect airplane stalling. He met his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) in California, and they married in 1971. They had two children, and his family was his priority. He helped coach his daughter’s sports teams, and loved to spend time as a family outdoors, including camping, skiing, fishing, and golfing. He was kind and generous, and was always looking for ways to help other people. He fought hard in his battle with Parkinson’s disease, and was an inspiration to those who knew him. Bill was a loving husband and father and will be missed dearly by his friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughters, Amy and Cindy; his sister, Margaret (Cutsinger nee Fisher) and nieces Cheryl and Carla. Due to COVID, the family will be having a private service. Anyone who wishes to make a donation to Parkinson’s research in Bill’s name can do so at the Michael J. Fox Foundation (https://www.michaeljfox.org/donate).
