Obituary of Elaina Marie Longland

Elaina M. Longland age 73, of Shelton, Washington passed away on Thursday April 1,2021. Elaina was born in Salem, Oregon to Floyd and Lillian (koch) Longland on December 22,1947. She is preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by a brother( Loren Longland) and her six children ( Jim Oppelt, Phillip Oppelt, Paul Oppelt, Michael Oppelt, Rachel Oppelt and Rick Oppelt.) Eight Grand children (Jessica, Larissa, shellby, Dylan, Liam, Dustin, Lisa and Raymond) Four Great grand children ( Paisley, Morgan, Birdie and Avalynn.) Elaina grew up in McCleary, Washington and went to High school in Elma, Washington where she met and married Richard j Oppelt. Together they raised six kids on a small 3 acre farm that they raised hogs for FFA and 4H kids while also raising a few other animals especially Eliana’s Tennessee walking horses which she especially loved and had raised since a small girl. Later in life Elaina and Richard divorced and Elaina moved on to get her CNA license and did in home care for a few years,, then worked for Bark and Gardens of Olympia then later Walmart in Aberdeen for a while then retired and had a variety of hobbies: crafting, sewing, drawing, gardening, fountain making and especially loved to go yard sailing with friends and family and baking sweets for her family. Her family is planning a memorial to be announced later
