Obituary of Gilbert Ennis Richardson Jr.

Gilbert “Gib” Ennis Richardson Jr. 1948-2021 Gilbert “Gib” Ennis Richardson Jr., was born October 31, 1948, in Missoula, Montana to Dorothy (Blamy) and Gilbert Richardson Sr. He passed away to be with Jesus May 17, 2021, at his home in Shelton, Washington with his wife by his side. Gib attended Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen, Washington, served in the US Army, and enjoyed a long career as a respected and skilled Diesel Mechanic in Mason County for 42 years. Of all Gib’s accomplishments, his most treasured was marrying his wife Debbie (Petersen) Richardson, who supported him in all conditions throughout their 49 years of marriage, and lovingly cared for him during their last days together. Gib was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important – the simplicity of living a life with those you love and leaving a legacy of eternal value. He laughed easily and loved deeply. He had a love for cars, his precious dog “Chevy”. He was a passionate and loyal sports fan, combined with a well-known sweet tooth for all things chocolate. Surviving Gib is his wife Debbie, daughter Trina (Brad) Morris of Shelton, Washington, sons Derik (Samantha) Richardson of Shelton, Washington and Erik Shaw of Benton City, Washington, sisters Mary Beavers, Betty Blumberg, and Beverly Boyd, eight grandchildren Brittany Maples, Aaron Michaelis, Kelsey Michaelis, Amy Morris, Rachel Morris, Dylan Richardson, Kaylee Richardson, Johnathon Shaw, and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers, Charles, Joseph, and Michael Richardson, and sister Kathy Goan. An outdoor celebration of Gib’s life will be held July 24th, 2021, 2:00pm at 600 E. Miracle Heights Drive Shelton, Washington.
