Obituary of Kerry Rose Johnson
With heavy hearts, we share the loss of our beautiful, sweet Kerry Rose Johnson. Kerry died in the early hours of June 5, 2021, at the tender age of 23. She was a precious daughter, loving sister, compassionate friend, and gifted artist who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her parents, Dwight and Robin Johnson, her brother Kevin Johnson, and her sister Kaila Ryan. We all love her so much, as do so many friends, relatives, and coworkers. Kerry was a bright spark, a shining star, and a pure sweetheart. She had a beautiful smile that revealed a tender, sweet soul.
Kerry graduated with high honors from Shelton High School on June 6, 2015. She was a member of the Shelton High Climbers Golf team from 2011-2015, helping to take her team to the state championships in 2013 and 2014, and was co-captain of the team in 2015. She worked as a CNA right out of high school, and later as an office manager for Planet Pooch, a dog daycare in Redwood City, CA. She loved Math and Chemistry and pursued a degree in teaching through Western Governors University. Wanting to give back to the community she grew up in, Kerry aspired to teach Chemistry at Shelton High School once she completed her teaching degree.
Kerry loved her family, her dogs, and her friends with all her heart. She was known to light up a room with her contagious smile and laughter. She felt strongly about building up everyone around her, going out of her way to compliment and encourage others.
There were two special loves of Kerry’s life. She had a special place in her heart for her sweet malamute, Noah, who crossed that rainbow bridge to wait for her in Heaven a few years ago. Then a precious cockapoo she named Aiden came into her life and filled her broken heart with comforting, unconditional love.
A memorial celebration of Kerry’s life will be held later this summer.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you kindly donate to the JED foundation, the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, or the ASPCA. Kerry would have greatly appreciated the impact your donation would do to help others, and we would like to honor her in this way.
