Obituary of Matthew Douglas Allred
Matt Allred was born in Oregon in 1952 to William and Doris (Kinkade) Allred and moved with his family to Washington state in 1967. He resided in Pierce county until 2008, when he moved to Mason County. Matt was an accomplished carpenter. He had over 25+ years in the Carpenter Union with over 45,000+ hours documented working on commercial jobs. An expert in finish work, Matt also worked 13 years as factory repairman doing finish work on all phases of mobile/modular homes. He was a working foreman on multiple Bon Marche and Macy stores throughout the United States. Although Matt had no children of his own, his niece and nephew recall that when he hosted Thanksgiving dinners, all hampers would be checked to ensure that no leftovers were being taken home. His home was a perfect bachelor pad with pachinko machine and pool table for family to enjoy. Matt died on his six acre property outside Belfair, where he enjoyed the wildlife and tranquility. He is survived by his sister, Margie and her family, and his brother, Wayne (Olga) Shones. His cremains are to be placed at a later date at IOOF Cemetery, Ellensburg, next to his great great grandparents and mother.
