Our daughter-in-law, Kylin Larsson, read this tribute to Pat at his memorial service held on December 4, 2021. Thank you, Kylin.
Oh, Pat knew how to throw a party,
Fajitas and berry margaritas,
Ambrosia every holiday, eating hearty
And telling stories of who Pete was,
Or cutting Christmas trees just right,
Or how the oil platforms looked at night.
Oh, Pat knew how to play, he’d go out of his way
To order remote control cars, spending the day
Making William laugh sending penguins
Waddling up mountains, sliding down, everyone wins!
The Seahawks games were the best, shouting Go Hawks!
No, wait! Mardi Gras and king cake, beads from the box…
Or New Years with top hats and feeling like cool cats,
Barbeque pork and champagne at Nadine and Pat’s.
Oh, Pat loved our kids to the moon and back,
And when it came to inspiring them, he had a real knack.
Maps of the country, maps of the world,
His last gift to our sons was a globe that twirled.
Oh, I’m glad their middle names echo his first
And I wish I was a bit more well-versed
On his antics, I really do wish I knew more.
So, on that note, my friends, I do implore
You to tell a tale of Pat and raise a drink to his name.
I’m glad our family knew him,
And without him life’s not the same.
