We met in Elma at high school in the late 90s. He was a couple years older than me and was sitting in front of me in detention when he turned around and started talking to me. I was considered an outcast but he never seemed to judge anyone.
He was an amazing artist too and I still have the drawing of all of the cartoon characters he made me back in 1998. I've kept them for years and I always had a little bit of a crush on him but never felt like I was brave enough to tell him. Or anyone else for that matter.
I just sent him a message on Facebook to try and catch up when I saw that he had passed.
