Nancy Renee Trucksess (nee Herrington) 1940 – 2023 Shelton, Washington On the morning of March 2, 2023, Nancy Renee Trucksess passed peacefully in her sleep with her family at her bedside. Nancy was 82 years old. Nancy was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming in December 1940 to Irene and Rosco Herrington. Nancy graduated from Boulder High School where she met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart and future husband Mark E. Trucksess. She attended the University of Colorado with Mark and was his stalwart companion as he graduated from University of Colorado Medical School and joined the Navy. Their ports of call included Portsmouth, Virginia; Long Beach, California; Jacksonville, Florida and finally, Bremerton, Washington. After retiring from the Navy, Nancy and Mark moved to Shelton, Washington where they owned and managed a primary health care clinic. Nancy served the Mason County Hospital Foundation in various roles including Foundation President and Chair of Fantasy Forest fundraising event and Co-founder of the Shorewood Guild. for many years. Nancy was elected to Mason General Hospital Commission where she served two plus terms from 2002 to 2017. She received the Flame Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award for being a health care champion. In 1979, Nancy was a founding member of the GQ PEO Chapter of Washington. She and Mark enjoyed many opportunities to travel and loved boating around the Puget Sound abord their boat, “Contagious.” Nancy is survived by her daughters Renee (Victor) Knarreborg; Robin Trucksess (Joesph Mucci); Shelly (Gordon) Baldwin; Holly (Bill) Oplinger; her grandchildren Ryan Randleas, Noelle Baldwin (Matt Von Hofen), and Andrea (Brenna) Nally. We love her dearly and miss her very much.
