Obituary of Calvin Ray Bryant

Calvin Ray Bryant a long time resident of Elma lost his battle with lung cancer at the University of Wash. Med. Center on Jan. 6, 2015. Calvin was born on Dec. 23, 1948 to William Dalton Bryant and Della Jean Bryant in Stilson, Ga. He was the 13th of 14 children. As a young man Calvin joined the Iron Workers Union in Palm Beach, Fla. and worked in the field until moving to Spokane, Wash. There he met Pam Voegele and they were married on Aug. 25, 1979. Calvin joined the labors Union in 1990 and remained a member until the time of his passing. Calvin was active in the Elma community, a long-time member of the Elma Eagles 1440. Calvin loved his 1993 mustang and all things motorsports, and his love for music was a constant through-out his life, above all was his love of family and friends. He adored his grandchildren, they were a great source of joy for him. Calvin enjoyed camping at the nooch where all were welcome to join us, he loved to play pool, loved to take care of his flowers in the spring, driving and traveling. He loved his pitbull Bella, who was always at his side. He will be remembered for his love of life, his beautiful smile, and his amazing sense of humor. Calvin is survived by his wife Pam at the family home in Elma, four daughters; Kristina Bryant and Della Bryant of Fla., Marion Bryant of N.J. and Hollie Bryant of Elma, Wash., one sister Juanita Bryant of Alabama and a brother Gerald Bryant of Burbank, Wash., seven grandchildren; Ally, Austin, Dene, Jaylyn, Justina, Tatum and Cameron. One great-grandchild and numerous nephews and nieces. A special nephew and son of his heart Bruce Voegele. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, ten brothers, two sisters and numerous nephews and nieces. Calvin's care is entrusted to McComb & Wagner Funeral Home in Shelton, Wash. An Eagle service and celebration of life will be held at Elma Eagles Club #1140, 404 E. Young St. in Elma, Wash. on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 at 2 p.m.
