Obituary of Doris Muir-Henke

Please share a memory of Doris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
“Dorie” Muir-Henke passed away peacefully in Port Angeles, WA on July 24th at age 83. She is survived by her children; Rick, Rob, Jeff and Jim Henke, Tamie Vigil, Tanya Ortega, Ronna Kennedy and Ron Pedersen; by her brothers Ken and Robert McMillen; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorie was known as much for her friendly nature as for her grit. She rose to challenges with a positive mindset and always sought a silver lining. Insightful and caring, many came to her with their troubles. Dorie had a wonderful laugh and a sparkle in her eye. She was inventive and creative - a talented baker and painter. She had a green thumb and could grow anything. Dorie loved large family gatherings and seeing everyone together. Her company was the very best and all who knew her will miss visiting with coffee and treats at her kitchen table, listening to her wind chimes and watching the hummingbirds at her feeders. She was a cherished friend. Her legacy was kindness and helpfulness - she rescued countless animals. Public services will not be held, per her wishes. However, donations can be made in her name to Aberdeen PAWS.--
