Obituary of Ronald Wood

With grace and peace that can only be provided by our Lord Jesus Christ, Ron went to be with his Heavenly Father on September 21, 2023. Ron, born June 18, 1949 to Ellis and Edna Wood in Anchorage Alaska moved to Spokane, Washington with his parents at the age of 3. After graduating high school he joined the Air Force where he served for 21 years – mostly working as an aircraft mechanic. While serving in the military and stationed at Beale AFB in California he met Paula and they married in 1970. While still in the military, they put down roots in Tacoma and had two children, Christine and Cory. After retiring from the Air Force, Ron worked in facility maintenance for various companies and retired in 2012. Ron enjoyed outdoors – camping, boating, water skiing, fishing and most of all crabbing. While still working, most summer weekends were spent with family and friends in Washington State Parks. He also enjoyed photography and was always looking for that special shot wherever we went. Of the thousands of photographs that were taken on our journeys, Ron is rarely in them because he was always behind the camera. After retirement, Ron and Paula were able to travel a bit more, taking longer road trips and even a few cruises. Ron is survived by his wife of 53 years, Paula, daughter Christine, son Cory, and two grandsons Aidan and Luca. Ron loved the Lord and grew to become a great prayer warrior and we are grateful to have been a part of his journey on earth. He will be truly missed!
