Eric, you were a bright light for me in some dark days. I am so glad we shared the friendship we had over the years. Thanks for encouraging me to finish my Masters degree when I didn’t think I could get it done. I am so glad we ran into each in the rooms of recovery, and that we had so many opportunities to support each other in growing and reaching for dreams. You bright smile, and articulate mind will be remembered in my heart forever.

My heart goes out to all who loved Eric. I remember commuting with him years ago when we both worked for the state. It was really nice to get to know him on a more intimate level. Sometimes he would get too deep for me on topics like geology and I’d pretend to know what he was talking about. His enthusiasm for knowledge was palpable. Eric touched so many of us, and will truly be missed.

The world has been warmed by his spirit, and the times were brighter because of his humor. His intelligence and adventurous heart inspired many, as it emanated from his gentle soul. Eric Marcelino was more than a nephew; he etched an indelible imprint on my heart from the moment I became his aunt. Our special bond strengthened when illness touched him in childhood and I could provide nurture he needed through my breast milk. The love for you, querido sobrino, is everlasting - forever remembered, never forgotten.
