As the first younger sister of this beautiful woman I remember how much she loved music. Adored music. I remember how we cried the day the music died. We grieved over the deaths of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper. Shel loved to dance and in her teens had many boyfriends. She was adored and respected by all who knew her. On her 16th birthday mom and dad threw her a big birthday party and it was crashed by every teenager in our hometown of San Diego, California. Her favorite name for me was "the brat" because I was always following her around and pestering her. She got engaged at the age of 16 to Terry Lynch but called it off when she met a handsome Navy man Darrell Hogan. Years later she was to meet and marry the man who was to become her life mate, Barry Marks. Gina grew up in San Diego, California and liked going to the beach and hanging out at Oscars the local Drive In. She was popular in high school and I envied her beauty and friends. Her best friend, Bonnie Bloodgood, saved our lives when the brakes to the car she was driving gave out. She was able to stop the car by running us into a tree just before we were coming to a steep hill. 6 months later Bonnie was killed in a car accident. Gina went to her funeral and cried with her parents and gave them strength. Gina went on to fulfill the dreams that her best friend could not. I admired her for that. Mom gave her the baby name of Dee Dee Ree and that is what we siblings called her growing up. She is now with her beloved parents and sister Sheri and brother Steve. Rest in peace my dear sister. I shall join you soon. Until then, save me a place. I love you, Your Sis, Bonnie Jean
