Obituary of Nadene Schad

Nadene Arlene Schad Feb.3, 1924 - March 24, 2024 Nadene Schad passed peacefully on May 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving children. Nadene was born in Jackson, Minnesota on February 3, 1924, to William and Johanna Ambrose. Nadene turned 100 this year and was an inspiration to her family and friends. Following her marriage to Leslie J. Schad in 1949, the couple made their first home in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1954, Leslie was transferred with Northwest Airlines, and they moved to Normandy Park, Washington, where they raised three children. Shelton became home in 1971 after completing their retirement house on Spencer Lake. For over 50 years, Nadene shared her love of baking, bridge, and gardening, with her neighbors and friends of Spencer Lake, Mount Olive Lutheran Church, and the Pickering Community Club. Nadene lived in her own home through her 99th year and lead by example as she was kind, caring and respectful to everyone she met. She had a quiet strength and quick sense of humor. Nadene loved visiting with family, relatives, and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Opal and brother, Denny. Nadene is survived and missed by her brother, Bill Ambrose (Bonnie) of Iowa, and her children, Jonelle Adams (Gary), Mike Schad (Gayle James), Robyn Ann Patterson (David Wells), her only grandchild, Tyler Adams and numerous nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be scheduled later at the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Shelton.
