Laura George Yorke (Ashbaugh) was born March 12, 1933 in Shelton, Washington to Edgar George and
Zedna Elizabeth (Coleman) Ashbaugh. Laura passed away at home in Shelton on September 13, 2024 at
the age of 91.
She is survived by her sons, Glenn (Brenda) Lockwood of Madison, WI; Scott (Robyn) Lockwood of
Shelton, WA and Sam (Julie) Lockwood of Kalama, WA, and numerous grandchildren, great
grandchildren and great great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her son Daniel Lockwood, husband Glenn Lockwood Jr., daughter Janet
Walker and husband Don Yorke.
During her younger years Laura loved backpacking, camping, boating, gold panning and travelling. She
was a very multi-talented artist who enjoyed painting, basket making and finding gemstones to create
jewelry.
In her later years, Laura enjoyed spending time with her family, regaling them with stories and listening
to many books on tape.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Washington Talking Book & Braille Library would be greatly
appreciated.
