Mary E. Coleman (McAllister) was the youngest of 5 children born under Arthur and Marie McAllister: Art, Lucille, Jerome, Richard, and Mary being the youngest and last of her surviving siblings.
She had four beautiful children: Tamara, Joey, Christopher, and April Lombard.
Mary attended Garfield High school after moving to Seattle, WA from Chicago, IL at the age of 14 years. She was the first African American to become Seattle's Seafair Mardi Gras queen in 1955.
She was the loving and supportive wife of Roger S Coleman for 50 years.
She is survived by her 3 children: Tamara, Joey, and April; 9 grandchildren: Stephen, Michael, Ryan, and Evan, Ashley, Jordan, Joie, Lèah, Jennifer; and 14 great grandchildren: Bailey, Camryn, Jaxson, Dominic, Xzavier, Sienna, Julian, Brielle, Mateo, Anthony, Carter, Gianna, and Noah who all affectionately know her as "Nana", Our Angel. Her love and grace, style, and inner and outer beauty will be greatly missed and we hope to continue her legacy through her descendants descendants.
