I met Allan two years ago at senior bowling and shared wins, losses, and pre-bowling lunches and post bowling "spirit lifting".
He even made me work at one of his training/judging sessions at the Red Lion here in Olympia when I decided to see what all of this dog stuff was about!
We talked about family, kids, Olympics, hospitals, politics, and even women!
I'm proud to say that he considered me a friend.
I miss him......

Allan's Family and Friends,
I was one of Allan's bowling league substitutes. He liked to tease me about my low bowling scores and averages and praise me for my high handicap, especially when it gave his team a Win. He was so funny and would say outrageous things just to make people laugh! I thought he was so brave to bowl as much as he did during the last months of his life.
I am so grateful to Bill Gill for introducing me to Allan. It was a joy to get to know him better and share in their humorous banter before or after bowling at The Brick, Fatso's, and Nickelby's. Allan's takes on hospital administration and politics were witty delights to behold!
May your memories of Allan bring you comfort during this time.
Sincerely,
Mary Oehlerich

Allan's family,
Allan was a joy to know and certainly one of a kind. I appreciated his knowledge and kindness very much. He will be greatly missed by so many former students, competitors and friends. I am sure Julie is correct about the dogs in heaven. Allan had room in his heart for everyone, dog and human.
God bless you,
Deborah Stoehr
