Obituary of Jeanette Marie Goldsby Karatsanos

Jeanette Marie Goldsby Karatsanos passed away at her home surrounded by the love of her husband and family on the afternoon of May 21st, 2015. She was born in Ohio on March 23, 1935 to Edward and Vivian Wheat. She grew up living in various places, eventually ending up in Westport, WA, as a young waitress in a diner, where she met and fell in love with her first husband, Erwin Goldsby. They were married on August 28, 1954. Together they made their home in Shelton where they raised 4 children. They were married for 39 magnificent years. Erwin preceded her in death on January 28, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Vivian Wheat, her stepmother, Mary Masterson, sisters Patsy and Sharon, and an infant brother. She enjoyed cooking, baking (especially her famous pies), crossword puzzles, game shows (especially Jeopardy), reading romance novels, animals, traveling, family BBQs and spending time with her expanding family. She loved her yard and looked forward to filling it with colorful flowers and hanging baskets each spring. She was lucky enough to meet and fall in love a second time with Mike Karatsanos. They were married on July 15, 2000. Together they traveled across the United States, remodeled the family home and shared 14 wonderful years. Jeanette, along with her husband Mike, were active at the local 40 ET 8 club where she enjoyed waitressing Sunday breakfasts and charity events, being a member of the La Femmes and making many close friends. She was an amazing, loving woman with a huge accepting heart. She often took in neighborhood children and stray pets, making sure they all felt loved and had full bellies. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She will live on forever in the lessons she taught, the stories she told and the hearts she filled with love. She is survived by her husband Mike Karatsanos; her children, Lorrie and Mike Green, Debby and Ricky Stiles, Darlene Goldsby, Wes and Gina Goldsby; her grandchildren, Mandy and Mike Curtis, Josh and Misti Pagel, Amy and Toni Pagel, Tiffany Goldsby, Carl and Brooke Goldsby, Carrie and Dave Dassow and Brandon Tweed; Numerous great grandchildren, all of Shelton; her brother, Carl Wheat of Tacoma; and her sisters, Linda Dawson of Puyallup and Wilma Hardison of Tulsa, OK.
